Land-based, Environmental & Animal Care
This award recognises those who are excelling in careers related to agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, sports turf management, and animal care. These individuals show commitment to sustainable practices, contribute to their teams and communities, and consistently go above and beyond to develop their expertise in caring for land, green spaces, or animals.
Business, Finance, Travel & Administration
This award celebrates apprentices excelling in business, finance, administration, human resources, and customer service. Recipients demonstrate professionalism, organisation, and problem-solving abilities, making a tangible impact on the efficiency, growth, and success within an organisation. They make a tangible impact on the efficiency, growth, and success of an organisation, showing ambition, adaptability, and a commitment to developing their leadership and management capabilities.
Education, Care & Health Services
This award is for apprentices who are making a positive difference in health, care, education or childcare. These individuals combine compassion with professionalism, delivering high-quality support to individuals and communities. They demonstrate reliability, dedication, and a commitment to improving the wellbeing and lives of those they serve, embodying the true spirit of care.
Construction
This award highlights excellence in construction, carpentry, bricklaying, painting, decorating, civil engineering, or construction management. These apprentices demonstrate technical expertise, innovation, and dedication, contributing to the creation of high-quality, safe, and sustainable built environments. They excel in teamwork, problem-solving, and a commitment to mastering their craft.
Engineering, Manufacturing & Maintenance
This award recognises apprentices in engineering, manufacturing, motor vehicle, maritime, and maintenance roles. These individuals show outstanding technical skill, innovation, and precision, applying practical knowledge to solve real-world problems. They also demonstrate dedication, reliability, and a continuous drive to develop expertise in their field of learning with efficiency.
Creative & Personal Services
This award celebrates apprentices in the creative, beauty, and personal services industries, including hairdressing and other client-focused professions. Recipients demonstrate talent, professionalism, and creativity with exceptional client experiences with a drive to continuously improve to make a lasting impact on their industry and the people they serve.
Apprentice of the Year – Early Career
Recognises an outstanding apprentice in the early stages of their career (typically aged 16–24) who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, rapid skills development, and a strong work ethic. This award celebrates individuals who have made a meaningful impact in their role, shown enthusiasm for learning, and embraced the opportunities of their apprenticeship to build a solid foundation for their future career.
Apprentice of the Year – Career Progression
Celebrates an apprentice of any age who has taken a significant step forward in their career by changing direction, returning to learning, or upskilling within their existing profession. This award recognises exceptional progress, determination, and adaptability, highlighting individuals who have embraced lifelong learning and are using their apprenticeship to achieve personal and professional transformation.
Resilience and Personal Achievement Award
Celebrates an apprentice who has overcome significant personal, social, or workplace challenges to succeed and thrive in their apprenticeship. This award recognises strength of character, perseverance, and determination, honouring individuals who have demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity while remaining committed to their learning, development, and long-term goals.
Mentor / Manager of the Year
Recognises an individual who has gone above and beyond to support, coach, and champion apprentices. This award celebrates mentors or managers who demonstrate outstanding dedication to developing talent, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support, and creating an environment where apprentices can grow in confidence, capability, and ambition.
Employer of the Year
Recognises an employer who demonstrates outstanding commitment to delivering high-quality apprenticeship opportunities. This award celebrates organisations that invest in apprentices through structured support, clear progression pathways, and a positive learning culture. Judges will look for evidence of innovation, inclusivity, and measurable outcomes, as well as a genuine commitment to developing skills, nurturing talent, and contributing to workforce growth through apprenticeships.
KAA Champion
This award recognises outstanding apprentices who champion the value and impact of apprenticeships, while also welcoming nominations for organisations from across the private and public sectors. The KAA Campion award celebrates apprentices who demonstrate exceptional commitment, skill development, progress and contribution. Recipients inspire others by sharing their journey, promoting lifelong learning, and showcasing the power of apprenticeships to transform careers and organisations.
